Hoops

The hoops games have started. Every Tuesday we play 5 on 5 for 2 hours with a game off here and there. I have to say that the running I've been doing is paying off. I barely got winded. It was awesome! I ran 10 miles this past Sunday. Hopefully I can do that again this weekend. I'm not training for anything in particular now. I'm just challenging myself. Conditioning works!

New personal distance record

I ran 10.36 miles yesterday. I kind of amazed myself that I was able to run that far without stopping other than to cross at a crosswalk one time. (15 seconds) The more I ran yesterday, the easier it got and the faster I ran. I don't know why, but after mile 6, I started to pick up the pace. And by mile 8-9, I was running an unbelievable pace. Runner's high? I don't know. This is all new to me. If you know what that means, by all means tell me!

Finished!

My seven ton rock pile is no more! I finished it tonight. A weight off my mind. Next on the agenda, finishing my kid's clubhouse.

Bike Ride

I went on a field trip with my daughter yesterday. They rent bikes and ride the Katy Trail. It was an awesome way to spend the day. The weather was perfect. A great field trip experience for the students. Looks like the rest of the weekend will be just as nice.

I'm learning....

how to be a runner. I've always worked out, but never really liked running very much. I am making progress though. I started in the heat of July. I figured it had to get a little easier as the weather cooled. I ran 7.75 miles today. I like the challenge of trying something new.

Rock Pile

I had 7 tons of rock in my driveway to be hauled one wheel barrow at a time to my backyard. I moved about 2 tons last weekend and probably moved about 3 tons after school today. I don't mind the exercising. I just wish I could fill the wheel barrow more than 1/3 full at a time. Granted it's a large wheel barrow, but I have to bring it down a pretty steep hill and it's hard to control....oh and I have to make a turn as I'm going down the hill. It does make for a great workout. I hope to be able to run 6+ miles in the morning. And then move more rock after my daughter's soccer game. Guess I better get to bed!

Health Day

I taught health class all day. Wow, I'm more tired today than days when I am on my feet all day moving around teaching PE. I don't think I could handle a sedentary job! I'm not in condition to do that. And the day seemed to drag on forever. Now thing about how the students feel in the classroom. All the more reason to get up and workout with Fred!

Volume 3

I'm glad I was finally able to get Volume 3 out. It has been 18 months between DVD releases. A little too long considering I wanted to put a new one out every 12 months or so. Life gets pretty busy sometimes and I have to put other things first. With 3 kids in sports and music, it's tough to keep up sometimes.

Thanks to my Uncle Don for inspiring me to push forward and expand Fit with Fred. I hope to have a redesigned website in the near future.

Long Day

Storms woke me up at 4am. By 4:45 I decided to go to the gym and workout. Had a pretty good workout and then it was time to get the kids ready for school. It was my long day. No breaks except for lunch, but I made it through. Kids were a bit wild, but it did rain all day. A good day though. I picked up the duplicates of Volume 3 and am now getting the website ready to sell. Bug Fred

Bug Fred was a hit today at school. There was a little too much screaming though when the spiders were on!

I'm back!

Wow, it's been over a year. I'm on a mission to blog now. Been working on releasing my 3rd Fred DVD. When I'm in the mood to create, I can use up all my free time for days coming up with new ideas and videos. Then other times, I can't do anything. Sometimes for long stretches. I guess that's how it goes with most people. Maybe it's my new fitness routine of working out at 5:30am most days. It sure is tough to start that, but my body is getting used to it now.
